Blood transfusions

⚪ Blood transfusions is a good thing

A woman is presented as a heroine for saving the life of her niece, giving her blood.

His wife and his niece, injured, lay in the bottom of the canyon for three days, awaiting discovery. Fearing the death of the child, the woman deliberately cut her arms and breast with glass from the windshield to provide blood to keep will the child alive durind the cold nights. A man is honored for having given 45 times his blood for free

Mr. B.W. Tibble, of London, England, has on forty-five different occasions given a pint of blood, for transfusion to patients in the London Hospital. The usual fee is five guineas, twenty-five dollars, but Tibble has always refused to receive any pay for his services. He has been honored with an Order by the king.

There is no connection between Genesis 9 and the consumption of blood.

All reasonable minds must conclude that it was not the eating of the blood that God objected to, but it was bringing the blood of the beast in contact with the blood of man.

Transfusion saves child's life

Keep Children Away from Bears
• At Larder Lake. Ontario, the parents of a two-year-old child allowed him to offer a piece of bread to a chained bear. The bear reached out, knocked the child down and bit him so savagely that it took three men to club him off, and a blood transfusion was necessary to save the child's life. This is a second case of this kind in recent years. The Watchtower proves that imprisonment of wild animals is unscriptural. The bear was not himself. If free to roam he would probably never have attacked the child. The bear Was killed.

The Consolation magazine (published by the Watchtower) reports the case of a doctor who donated a liter of his own blood in an emergency. He is portrayed as a hero.

In New York city a housewife in moving a boarder’s things accidentally shot herself through the heart with his revolver. She was rushed to a hospital, her left breast was cut around, four ribs were cut away, the heart was lifted out, three stitches were taken, one of the attending physicians in the great emergency gave a quart of his blood for transfusion, and today the woman lives and smiles gaily over what happened to her in the busiest 23 minutes of her life.

In the September 1945 edition of the periodical "Vertroosting" (the Dutch version of "Consolation"), which appears in Holland and Belgium, there is an article on the use of medicines, vaccination and blood transfusion.

Translation : 🇺🇸 "When we lose our life because we refuse inoculations, that does not bear witness as a justification of Jehovah's name. God never issued regulations which prohibit the use of drugs, inoculations or blood transfusions. It is an invention of people, who, like the Pharisees, leave Jehovah's mercy and love aside"

⚫ Blood transfusions is a bad thing

"Questions from Readers"
"In view of the seriousness of taking blood into the human system by a transfusion, would violation of the Holy Scriptures in this regard subject the dedicated, baptized receiver of blood transfusion to being disfellowshiped from the Christian congregation?" "The inspired Holy Scriptures answer yes."

"Firmly Resolved About Life And Blood "
"Similarly, God's command to 'abstain from blood' rules out ingesting it by the mouth as well as through injections into the veins. Furthermore, the Bible makes it clear that the divine law was not to be ignored even during an emergency that could threaten life. (1 Sam. 14:31-35) Many of God's approved servants have been willing to face dangers and even death rather than violate Scriptural principles and their integrity to Jehovah."

Does this put God's servants at a disadvantage in comparison with persons who ignore the Bible and take blood transfusions? No, [...] while most patients survive blood transfusions, many become diseased as a result of them and thousands die every year as a direct result of, them. [...] would it make good sense to turn one's back on God by breaking his law? If we try to save our life, or soul, by breaking God's law, we will lose it everlastingly.
