The Alpha and the Omega of Revelation 1:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:8 - King James

⚪ Jesus is the Alpha and Omega of Revelation 1:8

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega and the Almighty of Revelation 1: 8

[Rev] 1:8. I am THE Alpha and I AM ALSO THE Omega.- Alpha is. the first letter, and Omega the last letter, of the Greek alphabet, The. Beginning and the Encling.-"Our Lord's great honor is shown in that He was not only the first of God's creation, but the last. [...] Which is, and which was" and which is to come, the is since His resurrection that the message has gone forth-'All power in Heaven and in earth is given. unto Me.' (Matt. 28:18.) 21:6. And He [said] SAITH unto me, [it is done.] I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.-"It was the Father's good pleasure that the Blessed One, the Only Begotten of the Father, should accomplish the entire program of redemption and restitution; and be forever the Associate and Representative of the Father, through whom and by whom all things should continue, as He was the one through whom all things were made that were made."

Here is the quoted reference (Z.'01-201) :

The one enthroned (the Christ) declares at the conclusion of the Millennial age, “It is done;” my great contract is accomplished ; “I am the Alpha and the Omega [the A and the Z], the beginning and the end.”

22:13. I am Alpha and Omega, THE FIRST AND THE LAST, the Beginning and the End, [the First and the Last].
-"Our Lord tells us over and over again (See Rev. 1:8, 11, 17; 2:8; 3:14; 21:6), that He is the Beginning and the Ending, the First and the Last, of the creation of God."-

Z.'93-115 -->

In them John tells the same story that our Lord tells us over and over again (See Rev. 1:8, 11, 17; 2:8; 3:14; 21:6; 22-13), that he is the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, of the creation of God. [...] It is since his resurrection that the message has gone forth - “All power in heaven and in earth is given unto me.” (Matt. 28: is) Consequently it is only since then that he could be called the Almighty (as in Rev. 1:8).

⚫ Jesus is not the Alpha and the Omega of Revelation 1:8

Thus Revelation 1:8, RS, says : "'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God [AT; "Jehovah God," NW], who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Although the preceding verse speaks of Christ Jesus, it is clear that in verse 8 the application of the title is to the "Almighty" God. In this regard Albert Barnes in Barnes' Notes on the New Testament observes : "It cannot be absolutely certain that the writer meant to refer to the Lord Jesus specifically here . There is no real incongruity in supposing, also, that the writer here meant to refer to God as such."
[...]
The final occurrence of the title is at Revelation 22:13, which states : "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." [...] The "Alpha and the Omega" of verses 12-15, therefore, may properly be identified as the same one who bears the title in the other two occurrences [Revelation 1:8 + Revelation 21:6]: Jehovah God.

Let us observe the transformation of this verse by the Jehovah's Witnesses, to support their interpretation: "Lord God" from the original Greek becomes "Jehovah God."

Note that the explanation of the Watch Tower is not built on the text and context of Revelation 22:13-16. This gymnastics to try to appear credible, is due to the fact that in the inspired Word (Apo 22), the Name of Jesus is clearly mentioned 3 times. Whilst Jehovah's is totally non-existent in this passage.
