⚫ Jesus must not be worshiped

Throughout the centuries, many in Christendom have worshiped Jesus Christ as if he were Almighty God. Jesus himself, however, directed attention and worship only to Jehovah God. For example, when prodded to do an act of worship to the Devil, Jesus said: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Matthew 4:10) Later Jesus instruted his disciples: “Do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One.” — Matthew 23:9 [...] To render worship to anyone or anything else would be a form of idolatry,...

The argument used in this page does not resist the original Greek. The "Awake!" magazine told that God is worshiped in Matthew 4:10 (page 26 on the left), while Jesus to whom the Greek word proskuneo is attributed receives only what would be equivalent to ‘kiss the hand of someone in token of reverence or to do homage.’ (page 26 to the right). However if one takes the time to verify the word worship attributed to God in Matthew 4:10, we will find that it is exactly the same Greek word proskuneo attributed to Jesus.
